Get The Hell Out Of Church

No money – No problems / Big money – Big problems.

💰Who believes this? The truth is money doesn’t cause problems or pleasure. It’s what you do with, feel about, and attach value to that creates action. Money doesn’t have feelings. It does not care about you either way, but oh does it lure you into seductive relationships.

Mo Money

💰Satan delights in our unhealthy attachment to money. One of the most basic things Christians can and should do is to give charitably. Recently, The Nazarene Fund collected twenty-eight million dollars in just days to rescue people out of Afghanistan. That’s twenty-eight million dollars willingly donated through charitable giving with zero government or institutionalized church involvement.

💰Satan makes money messy because of its bipolar potential for good and bad. That’s why he keeps God’s people confounded about how much to give, where to give, when to give and what should be done with that which is given. In that cloud of frustration, good people stop giving charitably altogether.

The Whole Story

💰Don’t think so? Do you tithe weekly to your church? Why? Because it’s in the Bible? Who told you that? What else did they tell you about tithing? Do you give charitably? Why? Because it’s in the Bible? Who told you that? What else did they tell you about giving charitably? Now, to be blunt; if neither of these streams register curiosity with you, then odds are you don’t tithe regularly or give charitably. That’s cool too because the Bible says you don’t have to do either. What? No one told you about that?

💰 See how messy Satan is? Maybe one of the most misquoted Scriptures comes from

1 Timothy 6:10. People espouse money is the root of all evil while typing their latest social media post on thousand-dollar cell phones. I’ve included the NIV version for reference and clarification that money doesn’t care about you, and it is not evil. It’s your heart connection to this inanimate object that holds the potential for evil or for good.

💰 “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” ~ 1 Timothy 6:10

Look Over There

💰 Satan uses money to distract and destroy. Not just lives, relationships, and businesses but his adversary’s very own people. People love to attack God thanks to the occasional high-profile pastor scandals involving money. They use a human’s sin to condemn the One who gave His beloved Son as an atonement of our sin.

But even more insidious than a pastor giving his wife a Lamborghini after getting busted for cheating on her yet again or preaching in sneakers costing more than a congregant’s car, is the debate over tithing weekly to a church versus the direct giving of money to others in need.

“But it’s in the Bible… “

Confusion Kills Momentum

💰 And… this is precisely where Satan sits back and slips the same sly grin across his sickly face as he did once Eve’s lips pressed against the fruit before sinking her teeth and humanity into corruption.

💰 Satan’s presence in Church (Body of Christ) paralyzes God’s people against helping others through division, derision and mistrustful emotions all wrapped around the one thing that could care less about how you feel – money.

💰 Its way past time to get the hell (Satan) out of church and return Christ to the center of whatever you decide to do with money. And of course, God’s own Words give you the best direction ~

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (NIV)
