Maybe it’s because I’ve also spent the last many years with church bodies that look like everyone just crawled off of the battlefield, and were praising God for the chance to get right back out there to fight for others.
I didn’t know any better. Maybe you’ve been there and know how crappy it is. Of course, when you’re just a little dude, you don’t know that it’s crappy. You think you’re being a lil man, all tough and everything.
The idea isn’t to knock fellow Christians, but to nudge them to stop leering over the fence, and start looking into the mirror. Believe it or not, no one has or will ever earn their way into heaven by pointing out everyone else’s sin.
What are your thoughts about this? Has the United Methodist Church messed up by not changing with the times to remain culturally relevant?
