One of my most beloved pastors, Ronnie Melancon once explained why we get so exhausted after attending worship service. There’s a spiritual drop off after the mountain top experience. It’s not a bad thing he said, because we need the time to refresh.
10 Days of 31 Days: Going Too Far We’ve been allowing the puppy the freedom to roam throughout the house of late. […]
And sometimes, if I’m lucky, I get to go a few hours without seeing the faces of the injured, the abused or the murdered. Though I don’t think I’d like them to completely go away as they remind me of why I’ve done what I’ve done on their behalf.
8 of 31 Days: It Was Me Have you ever felt your spouse’s tears roll across your shoulder? Over the last few […]
She likes to pack, and since I’m more partial to throwing a business suit into a plastic bag, she’d rather organize the goods. The caveat is that I don’t get to complain if her selections aren’t my favorites. It’s a fair system.
I love it. I have a wooden table-top on sawhorse type stands and a straight-back wooden chair without any type of padding.
We’re basically free to do as we please no matter the hurt or harm to others. Why? because the gaggle of cohorts will also be good once you all agree to terms 1 or 2 of the definition.
Broken and Blue: A Policeman’s Guide to Health, Healing and Hope This is possibly the most important project I’ve ever worked on. […]
Rak Chazak Amats is an ancient Hebrew war cry that inspires the faithful to be strong and courageous. To Press the fight no matter the foe, and without ever considering the possibility of defeat.
Sun Tan & Son Can I don’t know why I do it every year. It’s not like I’m a teenager or college […]
Does that mean I failed? Not unless I try deceiving the people who trust me with their stories of the ups and downs of reclaiming their health.
Having an open hand with a closed heart gets you nothing but an empty palm. God didn’t lead them into the wilderness to die. He led them there so they might have eternal life.
Unity is the key for relationships. There is nothing we cannot accomplish when we come together as a body of believers.
It’s not always going to be sunshine in our lives, but was always in the storms that we learned the best lessons about the hardest times and our true strength to endure them in Christ.
David may not have been perfect, but his heart for God sure was. Don’t allow others to define your worship, or your relationship with God. He created us to know us in a very unique and special way.
This is satan giving us an impossible laundry list of things we can’t do without Christ. We’re looking for a way around Jesus. Focus on Christ, and He’ll take care of the rest.
The Warrior’s Marriage: God’s Foundational Law of Priority:
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Genesis 2:24
God also wants you to know that He goes before you to make way no matter what you’re facing or just fearing.
It empowers you to be strong, hold your ground and never even consider the possibilities of defeat.
Jesus: He Sees Us Imagine the woman with an issue of blood in a horde of people clamoring to see Jesus. She […]
I’ve been in the #trenches and know how easy it is to get swept up in a shift away from Christ. But I also know that I had to push through my crowd to find Him.
God’s Plan: To Prosper You And Not To Harm You Warriors, Being a man of God is not easy work. It’s not […]
FIT@50Week 94: Approaching the New Year Happily
This week’s FIT@50 is probably best spent just being human. I’ve come to understand that it’s okay to just be human.
The Eulogy: 2015 Over the last few days I’ve witnessed so many who’ve cursed or eulogized the last year; yes 2015. Instead of rejoicing in the 365 days of life God allowed them, they dismiss the gifts of grace in hopes of happenstance instantly or magically changing their circumstances. What makes a person believe that the tick of a second-hand tock is going to erase the hardships, the failures, the could-have-beens, the should-have-beens and the never-have-beens? Good things happen, bad things happen, […]
FIT@50 \ week 18 Broken: Don’t Do It “They broke me.” Those words were hard to hear. “I know. It’s what they do,” was all I could say. The somber, wooden expression in my friend’s face showed what two decades of service could do to even the most dedicated. Some professions require a certain adherence to its culture, although not part of the official policy. Mavericks, self-starters and long-haired freaky people need not apply. Unfortunately, the conflict between old school tradition and […]
FIT@50 \ week 9 Signs and wonders: As I’ve matured, leaning on faith has become something on which I focus. Wishing I could say it came easy wouldn’t be the truth. I think it’s a by-product of occupational conditioning. Cops assume everything someone says is naturally not the truth until proven otherwise. Skepticism requires a difficult deprogramming process, but is necessary for learning to trust others. The bible talks about reliance upon signs and wonders versus leaning on faith. As I’ve learned […]
Source: Blogspot Last week I posted about this iconic photograph, meet the man and his tragic love story in the face of incredible odds. Meet August Landmesser : The man behind the crossed arms The photo above has floated around the internet for a few years now, popular for one of its subjects’ subtle yet profound acts of nonconformity. There is no telling how many men in that crowd were acting out of fear, fully aware that failing to salute the Führer was akin to […]
