What Is A Disciple Of Jesus?

Simple explanation is someone who follows and learns from someone else. The best outcome is for the follower to become like the teacher.

How can you study them without beginning to speak, act and live like them? While we cannot become the teacher, we sure can mirror him. That in a nutshell is what being a disciple is.

Jesus spoke about discipleship in Luke 6:40 – “Jesus said, “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher” If you want to be like Jesus, then live like Jesus. How do you learn to live like Jesus? Learn from someone who is living like Jesus and allow them to disciple you.

Guess what? Once you get it, then you get to teach someone because you’ve now learned to live the life of Jesus. You also get to disciple others.
