Slay Your Lions:
How familiar are you with Benaiah? This guy is an OT superhero. Check him out HERE
His most talked about feat was that he killed a lion in a pit on a snowy day, although he did a lot more really cool stuff.
Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, performed great exploits. He struck down Moab’s two mightiest warriors. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion.
~ 2 Samuel 23:20
It got me thinking about the lions in our life? We all have them. Daniel faced his without one scratch, and here, Benaiah actually puts the sword to his lion.
Whatever it takes, there are lions roaming in our lives just waiting to devour us. 1 Peter 5:8 pulls no punches in warning us that the devil is lurking and looking to destroy you and me.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8
Let’s begin defeating them by naming our lions. Is it unforgiveness, addiction, porn, alcohol, divorce, abuse, loneliness, just to name a few.
Your lion’s may be in the pit, and have actually dragged you into it with them, but that doesn’t mean you are powerless against them. Swing God’s sword of truth in the name of Jesus Christ.
