when I was a rookie cop like this is the late ‘ 80s early ’90s I came out and and they taught me thelaw and they taught me all about enforcement what they didn’t teach me was how to communicate with people I hadto learn different ways of communicating differently with different people now it didn’t mean the law changed it didn’tmean the rules changed it didn’t mean anything structurally changed I just hadto learn how to communicate important information with different people so Icould help them what we’re going to talk about today’s uh message is we’re going to see Jesus in the same way Jesus isgoing to communicate with a man who could not hear and he couldn’t speak but he used the same language thatwe should all be using and that’s the language of love and that’s God’s loveyou know in this in this message today the one thing the Lord put on my heart for you today is friends will friendswho were willing to bring you to Jesus are the best friends to have it’s also the best friend tobe if you’re not bringing friends to Jesus I encourage you to do so and ifyou don’t have friends who want to bring friends to Jesus you need new friends why is this important do yourealize that 80% of the people who visit church for the first time or come to Christ were invited by afriend take a second think back about when you came to the Lord when you came into your first building and it wasweird and it was all these things you weren’t used to you didn’t just walk in accidentally off the street somebodycared and loved you enough to invite you to come be that person for the personthat was them for you what I will ask you is the word of the Lord that makes us that person who transforms us fromwho we were to who we are is the word of the Lord and I ask that we stand as the body to read this as the body and thisis our anchor scripture for today it continues through the gospel of Mark we’re in Mark 731 through 37 and we’llread together as the body and we’ll begin Jesus heals the deaf mute and begin again departing from the region ofTy and sidon he came through the midst of the region of decapus to the Sea ofGalilee then they brought him to one who was deaf and had an impediment in hisspeech and They begged him to put his hand on him and he took him aside fromthe multitude put his fingers in his ears and spat and touched thetongue then looking up to heaven he sighed and said to him aatha that is beopen immediately his ears were open and the impediment of his tongue was loosedand he spoke plainly then he commanded them that they should tell no one butthe more he commanded them the more widely they proclaimed it and they were astonish beyond measure saying he hasdone all things well he makes both the death to he here and the mute to speakthank you Jesus thank you Jesus thank you for a loving savior I want to walkthrough this scripture we’re continuing in the gospel of Mark we are walking side by side withJesus and we’re going to we’re going to go to Mark 7:31 again departing from the region ofTy and sidon he came through the midst of the region of De capis to the Sea of Galilee I want to remind you that Jesushas left his his uh the Sea of the the Galilee area which is Capernaum which was kind of his home Church area andhe’s taken a tour through a very Gentile region remember last week he was about 50 miles away in Ty and siden that’swhere he encountered the the syrop phenician the woman with the daughter that was that was uh demon possessed andnow he’s continuing to walk through and work through decapolis now all decapolis means in the Greek it’s decapolis butDeca means 10 it’s a confederation of 10 cities in this regionand and they’re all heavily heavily uh Gentile area now today we we wouldrecognize it as a modern day Jordan Israel and Syria and people just clamored to Jesuslike Jesus isn’t in his home base right Jesus is not in his ministry Center butpeople came to Jesus how do how do these Gentiles how do they even know who thisguy is I mean there’s no Facebook post there’s no there’s no event blast or ortext blast yes the reason these people know who Jesus is and why he’s there is becausesomebody told somebody because they’re out there sharing the good news ofJesus you know today I I see people on social media and they debate on whether they’re going to like a post about Jesuslike God is good somebody post that I’m gonna be bold today and I’m going to post on Facebook God is good and thenother people like do I like it I don’t even know if I want the static that’s going to come with a like that’s notbeing bold now when you’re really bold you put a little pray in hands Emoji like hashtag I’m over saved I’m goingput a little hands a little praying hands can you imagine if that’s what these people if that’s what it dependedupon these people if you dare to share listen I’m telling you lives are going to be changed lives are going to bechanged you cannot tell me today that your life is the same today as it was before you came to Christ and the reasonyou’re here today is that you came to Christ how did you come to Christ because somebody dared toshare be the person who dares to share the goodness of Jesus Christ you knowthe gospel of Matthew it’s a parallel version of what’s happening in Mark but but Matthew gives a more bird’s-eye viewhe’s not micro intimate into the conversations and I want to give you a perspective because we’re talking aboutone guy that Jesus pulls from the multitudes we say well what kind of multitude are we talking about wellMatthew 15 tells us Jesus departed from there skirted the Sea of Galilee he’sgoing in a in a circular route and went up on the mountain and sat there then great multitudes came to him having withthem the lame the blind the mute the maed and many others and they laid themdown at Jesus’s feet and he healed them so the multitude again multitudemarveled and when they saw the mute speaking and the M made whole and the lame walking and the blind seeing theyglorified the god of Israel now what I want to tell you is these were not Jewsthese were Gentiles how do we know because they because they worship they glorify the god of Israel like his Godnot our god what they didn’t know was he’s about to become theirGod so this is what we’re dealing with you see there’s a multitude when theBible repeats something it’s important the word multitude I want you to get agrasp for that so we like well without a Facebook invite or or or a text messageBlast how did this multitude even come to be what I want to remind you is let’sgo back to when we were talking about when Jesus crossed the Sea of Galileeremember when he went over to the the the region of the gines to to deliver the demoniac Legion 6,000 demonsremember when he put his him and his guys in that 26t boat 7 and 1/2 ft wideand they crossed the Sea of Galilee where did they go do you recall Mark 5 tells us and he departed and began come with you and what did Jesus tell him todo no no you stay and you go tell everybody all the good things that theLord has done let me ask you a question you think this brother did his job you think he wouldn’t told everybody thegood things that God has done for him well if he had not there would not be multitudes theretoday this man did his job he was on an assignment from God and he did hisassignment well what I want to tell you you have the same influence right you have thesame opportunity go and tell the good thingsthat God has done I see families in here who I knowthey’re here because somebody didn’t go to Bible College and do some exag Jesus hermeneutics on allthe scriptures they simply shared the good things that God did for them andthey’re like I can dig it what do I learn more I’ll see you on Sunday andthen they told told somebody and they told somebody thank God for godly peoplewilling to tell about the goodness of God you know I I always share aboutMinistry called me out for my career and said Iwant you a Shepherd I didn’t realize how prepared I was to do what equip people so what Iwant to share with you here is when this brother was healed the demoniac was delivered of the 6,000 demons and hewanted to come with Jesus it may have felt like rejection at the time even when you’re reading through the gospelof Mark maybe the first time you’re like oh bro that’s hard like this dude just got delivered and he wants to f followJesus and Jesus like no I need you to stay here and go tell some people do yousee why now what I want to tell you is if your ministry doesn’t look like what you want it to be but the Lord’s calledyou to do it over here don’t be grudged that it’s not what you want I’m going totell you you’ll bear more fruit in your ministry doing what the Lord’s called you to do than doing what you want to doI guarantee you had this brother squeezed himself into that 26 Long 7 and 1/2 ft wide boat which I know wasagainst coast guard regulations there wouldn’t have been a soul here thatday that multitude would not have existed and what I want to tell you isdon’t be discouraged the first time you share Jesus with people it’s not tells us what they began to plead with him to depart fromtheir region you see Jesus came to bring Jesus and people rejected Jesus but whatdid it take to spread the word of Jesus one guy from their Hometown one guy whocould tell all the good things that God had done for him you are that one personyou are that voice you are the person if you dare to share the goodness ofGod people like I don’t know a lot of scripture do you know one yeah share ityou share that one scripture you share what you know and God will bring the multiplicationMark 7:32 tells us they uh then they brought him then they brought him to toto him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech and They begged him to put his hands onhim you see I want you to I want to remind you Jesus knows his time’s getting short Jesus is in is in Gentilearea thinking I’m going to get a little time away with my boys because when Jesus ascends it’s upon those 12 to keepthings going it’s it’s upon you to keep things going it’s upon the generations thatyou’re raising up to keep things going to keep building the kingdom Jesus had alimited amount of time and he and I will tell you he had a lot of work to do hehad a lot of work to do with the disciples so he’s looking every day that he spends ministering every day that hespends healing and delivering is less time he’s got to prepare hismen you see I want to make sure that you’re very clear is when Jesus ishealing the multitude and he’s casting out demons it’s not like he’s waving a magic wand and he’s saying a magic wordand poof they’re healed do you remember what healing is the Greek wordthoro it’s where we get the English word therapy Jesus is working with thesepeople he healed the lame arm and he said stretch it out he’s he’s atherapist he is working you see healing can come instantaneous and healing can comethrough therapy the woman with the issue of blood when he told her and as she wentshe was made well the lepers healed go see the priest and as they went theywere made whole Jesus is working healing takes work the therapy the thDro it breaks my heart there’s people in this congregation who have who have survived incredible things what theworld would say oh no well well then why aren’t you healed all of a sudden you are healed Jesus tells us by his stripesyou were healed but healing is also a process of therapy don’t grow weary in your faithbecause the world starts trying to question you so here’s the death man what I want to sh share that to sharewith you is is that when Jesus is healing the multitudes and casting them out it’s not like a like a blanket thathe’s waving or a wine that he’s waving this ain’t Harry Potter this is real life this is Jesus Christ he is workingand healing and delivering the multitudes so we go to this God thisthis this guy that’s deaf and can’t speak who was he well can I tell you who he is he’s you he’s me he’s us at onepoint in our lives every one of us were spiritually deaf and spirituallyspeechless we didn’t know how to hear from the Lord we didn’t know how to speak of to the Lord this man before yougo I’m I’m going use my cage and oh shab that’s old cjun oh shab he couldn’thear he couldn’t talk that’s us at one point in our lifewe were all spiritually deaf and spiritually speechless my question to you is are youstill that man or that woman at this point in our faith walk we should not weshould no longer be spiritually deaf or spiritually mute you see Mark 7:32 saysthen they brought then they brought these are his friends you seesome people have just got to be brought parents you know what I’m talking aboutyou know what I’m talking about come on husbands husbands you know what I’mtalking about it’s like come on but listen some people just got to bebrought again there’s families in here that they’re struggling to get the kids in theteens but they’re here they’re here and look don’t give up on people you got toinvite them you got to call them you got to remind them you got to go pick them up you see your friends can lead you toJesus but they can also keep you away what I want to tell you I want you to be discern erning about who you surroundyourself with I have such a burden going to Timothy when when he’s being told aboutDiscerning of seducing spirits and doctrines of demons there’s coming perilous times perilous in the Greek theword it’s ferocious it’s vicious you think times are tough now you ain’t seen nothing yet there’s perilous times aheadand if you’re not surrounding yourself with solid folks you’re leaving yourselfwide open you know there’s a social ological construct is called who’s in your five you will become the reflectionof the five people that you’re closest to you want to be a knucklehead hang out with five Knuckleheads you want to be amillionaire hang out with five millionaires you choose now look when you’re a kid in school that’s yourclassmates you can’t help go back and look at your kids your pictures when you were little like look at your classpicture in third grade like I can’t help who I’m surrounded by but you know what todayyou can now there’s acquaintances and there’s Associates butI’m talking your closest Five you be Discerning and careful who you allow themselves associate with you andI tell people all the time they’re like well I don’t know nobody I don’t know five you know the father you know theson and you know Holy Spirit now you got three out of five pretty good and I tellsomebody if you’re really desperate for a friend I’ll be your friend too now you just need one more I want to encourageyour body you want to move into this new season new year new you new this newthat start by being Discerning and who you allow closest to yourlife I’m not saying they’re bad people but they may not be the people moving in the direction that you want to go whatyou’re going to notice is the more spiritually healthy you become the less spiritually the unhealthy people can bearound you and you start looking around you wonder where everybody went their tolerance level for yourspiritual maturity is at a certain point you need to align yourself with peopleat that and above that level so we continue when we talked about and then they brought uh him toJesus you know what these guys are doing it’s called intercession they are standing the gapfor this brother now I think when it says they brought him that means they had to they had to force him over therehe wasn’t willing he wasn’t whistling while he’s walking down the street to see Jesus they had to bring himthere these brothers are interceding for Jesus intercession is so important andscripturally grounded it’s not something that we talk a lot about in the church we do have intercessory teams in thisbody but I want to share with the the grounding it comes from Isaiah when Isaiah sets the mission Isaiah 62 ohJerusalem I have posted Watchmen on your walls they will pray day at nightcontinually take no rest all you who pray to the Lord Give the Lord no rest until he completes his work until hemakes Jerusalem the pride of the earth we need Miguel prayed about that in corporate we need intercessors we needpeople who will stand with us for us on our behalf before the Lord that’s whatthese men are doing they’re interceding for this brother so we continue says Mark 7:32then they brought him to the one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech and They begged him to put his hands onhim in the Greek the word for the the phrase put his hands on him to put handson it’s to impose a name to inflict to impose withauthority Jesus got his hands on you amen impose your will impose yourAuthority what I am what I am warning you and I’ve been warning you for the last year be yesterday was a confronted by twowitches and he said the word no he just said no and he began to prayand they disappeared don’t think that the devil’s standingout there clapping for the body of this church don’t think the devil’s out there cheering your marriage don’t think thedevil’s happy because you’re here you have power and authority but I’m asking you Church tobe Discerning about who you allow to lay hands on you because there is asupernatural transference of power Mark 7:33 and he took him aside from themultitude and put his fingers in his ears and he spat and touched his tongue now what Jesus did when in the Greek itsaid when it’s the phrase taken aside it’s what he did was he sought he received back he recovered this lostlamb Jesus took him away from the multitude you see Jesus loves you somuch even in the midst of everybody and everything going on Jesus Jesus wants to give you his undivided attention amendon’t ever feel that God doesn’t see you I know alot of times we do we’ll be a we’ll be the loneliest person in the biggest crowd we’ve ever beenin God sees you God wants to pull you aside he wants to give you specialattention he wants to show you the goodness of God I know a lot of us feelunseen unheard unwanted but God sees you God sees you yes do you see God gavethis man his undivided attention can you imagine back at the time and even todaywe have a special need son we fly Southwest every two weeks I see the people who walk in and look at my sonand they walk past they’ve got a beautiful Window Seat but they see me in this specialneeds child and I see it I’ve seen it for 10 years that I’ve flown back and forthand they walk past him think about this guy he can’t hear because he can’t hearhe can’t speak and now here’s Jesus the Christ takes him aside pulls himapart God wants to talk to you the same way you see I want to give you anequipping moment because we look at this healing and Jesus pulls him aside andthen he’s going to put his ear his fingers in his ear and he’s going to touch his tongue and like Jesus is not putting on a production to heal thisman you see a lot of people they they get stuck they try to minister out oftheir own experience like when you’re ministering to somebody or and they’ll go well that ain’t the way Godworks like who are you to Define and limit The Sovereign God and how he worksand you know what I tell people you’re right he’ll never work for you like that because you put limits on him you cannotlimit an unlimited God Jesus Works how Jesus how the father tells him to work don’t limit the workof God by trying to put your own natural understandings on how God worksamen so Mark 7:33 put his fingers in his ears you know what you know what Jesuswas doing was there some was there some magic and putting his fingers in his ears I want you to think real life likelet’s drop the over religious like this guy cannot hear so he don’t know whatJesus is saying so what does Jesus do he uses simple sign gross he spit he touched histongue back then the culture believed that there was healing power in saliva was there no but that’s what theybelieved so if Jesus wanted to to comfort this man right if he wanted tocomfort this man what would he do he would relate to him on the level that the man understood again he had animpediment in his tongue so Jesus touched again simply sign language letting him know I understand what theproblem is look whatever you got going on in your life God understands what the issueis God understands what your particular issue is God will communicate with youat that level of your issue amen you know what I love in the Greek is the thephrase for touch his tongue it’s hapto you know what that means it means tolight to Kindle think about that for a second howbeautiful is that this man has not been able to speak his tongue is tied it’sbound and Jesus lights it he Kindles it with atouch man that’s beautiful you know I just want to sharewith you that when you minister to people it’s not one size fits all this is anequipping church this is a church that that goes and does and says come and seeand I just want to encourage you when you minister to people allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit I know we’veseen programs and YouTube and gone to trainings and that’s great but don’t getlocked in if the holy spirit’s leading you in One Direction don’t negate that thatguidance because you saw this on YouTube Ministry is not a one-sizedfits-all cookie cutter don’t Minister out of your experience I try to break somany people out of that mindset well you know when when I did this this is this is my experience amenhallelujah not everybody’s experience is the same allow the holy spirit to guideyou and he’s going to guide you according to the word of the Lord amen Mark 7:34 then looking up to heaven hesighed and said to him aatha that is be open now this is Jesus is usingAramaic this is the language that he used he spoke Aramaic well at the time what I’m about to do for you comes through God the Father all Jesus is doing in theseactions is letting this man know I hear you I see you I understand you and Godthe father is going to heal you you see Jesus simply came to do hisfather’s will Jesus wasn’t out there trying to make a name for himself or get Facebook likes or anything like that weknow this in John 5:19 he says so Jesus explained I will I tell you the truth the son can do nothing by himself hedoes only what he sees the father doing whatever the father does the son doesalso what I want to encourage you if you’re if you’re out there ministeringand if you’re trying to do anything other than what the father has told you to do I just suggest you stop come on Isuggest you stop on you’re trying to grow your own fruit manufactured fruitis not Holy Spirit fruit look to the father look to the father he he lovesthe fact that you want to be out there praying and healing and delivering mygoodness that’s what Mark tells us and that’s what Jesus came to do I came to preach the gospel I came to heal thesick and I came to cast out demons he wants you to do that look to thefather don’t manufacture fruit Mark 7:34 says he sighed Jesusgroaned in the Greek the context is is that he is groaning for the hurt ofhumanity as a as another example of what sin has done to corrupt Humanity likeJesus is groaning for the pain and the sin and the corruption of all Humanitybecause of what happened in the garden what I what I love this Wednesday night in our equipping class we weretalking about repentance Jews for repentance is toua it means to return tothe original condition to restore to the originalcondition that’s what repentance does it gets you to go the otherdirection return to the original condition that God designed us to have relationship with him as I prayed thisweek I believe that the Holy Spirit was applying this word to shua we’ve had we’ve had a lot of the body sick overthe last couple weeks and we have been praying we’ve been interceding for the for the corporate healing of our bodybut what I’ve notic is when I when we pray with people and they’re praying like like I just want to get better Ijust want to get better all we’re doing we’re limiting ourselves in our prayers to a naturalunderstanding of get better what I will challenge you to do is when we pray say for example healing pray to shuva praythat the Lord will return you will restore you to the original condition of the garden amen because in the gardenwas Creation in the garden is where God created You In His Image in perfection in power andauthority if we just want to pray to get better in a natural understanding wenever come into full completion I challenge you to get a little bit dangerous to go a little bit deeper Isaid last week break the jar break the top off the alabaster jar burn the shipsgo all in for King Jesus when you pray pray dangerous prayers pray dangerouspray pray for Tashua pray that in your health and then in your understanding that God restores you to the originalcondition and that original condition is teos condition that is perfection that is completion amen pray for completehealing not just to get a people ask I’m like look did you read your Bibleno a week later did you read your Bible no listen I can’t stress enough Romans 12:2 theonly way you’re going to change your life is to not be conformed to the patterns of the world how do you notconform to the patterns of the World by the renewing of your mind this right here where does Satan attack you yourmind it’s the mind I’m not saying it’s an academic exercise it’s anunderstanding and a coming into knowledge of what the word of the Lord says it’s not your emotions it’s notyour feelings ings so when Jesus says be open what he’s telling this brother is Ineed you to open your mind I need you to open your heart I need you to understandand receive the goodness of God look we’re praying at the altar and and we talk about being slain in the spiritbeing overcome that Kos power that’s the same power through theholy spirit that when they came to Jesus in the garden 600 Elite Roman soldiers and they go oh we’re looking for Jesusof Nazareth and what does he say I’m he 600 Elite Roman soldiers fell down as ofdead you know why K’s power that’s the demonstratable outwardpower of the holy spirit it’s the same power that that Rose Jesus from the deadthat’s K’s power if you’ve got the Holy Spirit living inside of you you know what you got K’spower and and when we’re praying The Altar and you start to see people they they get overcome come by the HolySpirit and then they like I ain’t going down what are people going to Think of Me Like Jesus say you got to be open toreceive the blessing the power of the holy spirit amen I want to challenge youin your life where are you resistant to the permeation through thesaturation through the revelation of the Holy Spirit what is the Lord trying totell you in this new season what is is God trying to tell youjust I just want you to think about that where am I being resistant to thepermeation of the holy spirit in my life God wants you to open it up so hecan fully pour it in you know when it says that his tongue was loosed it justmeans to unbind to set free to be brought to Liberty to declare Freedomyou see you’ve got the keys to the kingdom of heaven if you’ve got the Holy Spiritamen God wants you to use those keys to bind and to loose so you say well what what arethose keys well those are keys to the kingdom well where is the kingdom well I’m glad you ask because Luke 17221tells us what now he was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God wouldcome he answered them and said the kingdom of God does not come with observation nor will they say see hereor see there for indeed and church I want you to get this the kingdom of Godis within you the kingdom of God is within you you don’t go looking for iton YouTube you don’t go looking for it down the street you don’t go looking for it in somebody else the kingdom of Godis within you and you have the keys to the kingdom but you have got to bewilling to use the keys to bind up what needs to be bound up and loose
