I reached out to my closest and most trusted brothers in Christ and asked them to join me bringing the best men’s workshop directly to you. April 6 and 7, 2020, we’re hosting over 20 top influencers from pastors to firefighters. It’s completely free and only for men.
To say I loved him is an understatement. There was a soul tie that kept me tethered to grief and survivor’s guilt.
We’re in a season where we can offer our team to you for the sole goal of getting your book’s manuscript to market.
Life was falling apart and all I could do was crumble atop the people closest to me. My wife and kids were dodging emotional boulders, and ducking away from tumbling personality projectiles.
I looked at Leah and she gave me that neutral expression that said, “I’m with you either way.”
I used to suck it up and go about my days in hopes of the effects lessening or that I wouldn’t do something to myself in those darkest moments of grief and despair over the conflicting feelings brought about by another of those anniversaries.
Our hopes, dreams, value and personal footprint becomes easily blown away, and thus we become disposable.
Maybe it’s because I’ve also spent the last many years with church bodies that look like everyone just crawled off of the battlefield, and were praising God for the chance to get right back out there to fight for others.
We’re sending our kids off into a world vastly different than the rainbow sprinkled snow globe they’re raised in.
Staff men’s ministries with volunteers of actual men who’ve messed up more in life than leaving a dog-eared copy of the latest men’s grooming magazine on the counter.
What’s really eating away at you? Are regrets consuming your thoughts so you’re forced to shut them down? Can you sit in […]
Unless you’re married, you should be on a sex strike, or as everyone else in the world calls it; chastity. By no longer having unwed intercourse…
People influence who we are and who we become. If you want to become a better person, you need better friends. Why? Because you will begin to adapt the habits and practices of those guys you spend time with.
My Jesus was an American Jesus. I loved Him, and was happy that others in the world got to know about Him, but the truth was, He belonged to America. In my mind’s eye, Jesus carried Old Glory and rode a screaming bald eagle across the sky.
I didn’t know any better. Maybe you’ve been there and know how crappy it is. Of course, when you’re just a little dude, you don’t know that it’s crappy. You think you’re being a lil man, all tough and everything.
This really should be our source for daily living. It’s the source of life, light and love and it’s always on and […]
Stumbling through life from circumstance to happenstance is how too many of us men fumble through life. Without purpose or intention, we become victims of everyone’s whim while trying to avoid the thorns and wondering what happened to the palms.
Then I began to dig deeper into the previous generations by recording the same dynamics. Soon, I had created a family tree of truth.
This is where social pariah feed. Because, just as the crowd did to the contest’s winner; people without foundation will applaud you before they feast upon you.
God knows you have needs, but He isn’t going to smash down your spiritual door like a SWAT team into a drug den. We simply open the door.
I sorta figured my latest article was going to grab attention. It did. Lots of attention, but I’m so appreciative of people sharing their heart along with their opinion.
The idea isn’t to knock fellow Christians, but to nudge them to stop leering over the fence, and start looking into the mirror. Believe it or not, no one has or will ever earn their way into heaven by pointing out everyone else’s sin.
What are your thoughts about this? Has the United Methodist Church messed up by not changing with the times to remain culturally relevant?
I had this wonderfully introspective post ready for today. Leading up to my birthday, I like to use the time to reflect over the course of my life. But, as I began to write,
And, while leaving it all behind to serve God was foreign to a little boy whose family never attended church, God knew the desire to know Him would lead me onto His path.

We’d also lost who we were, and what we knew of each other. That’s when we choose to look up, and set our sights on what was truly important in this life – God – each other – family – and everything else.
I keep wondering if it’s a dream. I mean at almost 54 years old (March 11th,) it amazes me to be so blessed with family who love each other and loves me.
I spent my youth doing one thing. Can you guess what it was? Well, besides sports of course. I spent it doing what most young boys do – trying to earn the approval of their dad. A few years ago I sat next to him in a hospital bed as he lingered in and out of conscientiousness.
I was an empty vessel that was never going to be filled by Leah, no matter how much she poured into me. She knew that too, and this is where the beauty of a spouse comes to life.
I still get uncomfortable when people do kind things for me just because. But I’m working to become a better receiver of blessings.

March Madness: Day 1 It’s March! That used to mean a mad dash to accomplish everything manly before my birthday on the […]
Procrastination is sometimes just the fear of taking the next step. You think you’re stuck until you realize you just haven’t made the decision to move.
KEY TO FOLLOWING JESUS
Pride is not always conscious arrogance. Mostly it’s subconscious self-sufficiency.
It’s when we cease walking in our own strength that we follow Christ.
Let Christ Hold The Pieces Of Your Life Together
Brothers, that doubt is from darkness. Look to the Light of Christ & those old alibis that keep you shackled will shatter to your feet!
Have you found yourself in a season where what was once good, has dried up,and you look around asking God what happened?
Live Your Life With Purpose
You are no accident. God created you with His intention for a very special purpose.
We naturally respond to situations through emotion and action. Often times, the outcomes aren’t what we expected or wanted. Yet, we find ourselves unable to apologize, afraid of the consequences or just ashamed of what we’ve done.

What did Bathsheba’s husband do to deserve being set up and murdered? Nothing. But King David’s sexual sin caused innocent blood to spill. Who are we hurting when we sin?
Let’s make the time to pray, and when we do, let’s not treat the time like a to do wish list. Slow down and spend time in the relationship with our Father.
Be intentional in your decisions. God gives us power to choose life, real real, so let’s make an intentional effort to choose wisely – choose life.
God has a blessing for us, but we waste more effort looking back than we do pressing forward. Eyes on the prize!!
